About this program

ASSTA’s Primary Carer Support Scheme offers awards of up to $500 to assist members with primary carer responsibilities to present accepted papers at national or international conferences, workshops, symposia, or relevant fieldwork. Eligible costs include travel for a dependent and an accompanying additional carer, dependent-care services at the event or fieldwork site, or alternative carer services at the applicant’s home base. Applicants must be financial ASSTA members for at least six months, be the first-named author on an already-accepted presentation, and may receive only one ASSTA grant (excluding ASSTA event grants) per calendar year. Applications are submitted via an online form and must include proof of registration, a detailed rationale justifying the need for carer support and why less costly options are unavailable, and a budget with justification; awardees must submit a conference report to the ASSTA newsletter within three months of attendance.
