ASSTA Research Event Awards

About this program

The Australasian Speech Science and Technology Association (ASSTA) offers Research Event Awards to support and promote speech science and technology research in Australasia by funding events that establish or strengthen research collaborations or host seminars/workshops on notable issues, new theories, or approaches. Awards of up to AUD 5,000 are available for online, in-person, or hybrid events; up to two events may be funded per year, with applications accepted on a rolling basis and an initial expression of interest required (submit a title and 250‑word abstract to secretary@assta.org). Applicants must be Ordinary ASSTA members with at least six months of paid membership and must be conducting research in Australia or New Zealand; a full application paper must be uploaded with the online submission and only complete, eligible applications will be considered. Successful recipients are required to submit a final report after the funded event.
