Australian Wildlife Society offers an annual Wildlife Rehabilitation Award of $5,000 plus a trophy and certificate to recognise individual volunteer rehabilitators or small organisations that contribute to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of Australian native wildlife. The award aims to support volunteer rescuers, further the Society’s conservation goals and raise awareness of wildlife rehabilitation. Eligible nominees are volunteer wildlife rescuers or small organisations that hold a current rehabilitation permit; nominations are submitted annually via the Society’s online form or downloadable PDF and are received by 31 December. The President assesses entries on their benefit to wildlife conservation, with winners notified by email and announced at the Society’s AGM and in Australian Wildlife magazine.
