About this program
The Association for Women in Mathematics, supported by Microsoft Research, awards the biennial AWM Microsoft Research Prize in Algebra and Number Theory to recognize outstanding research contributions by women in algebra and number theory and to advance recipients' careers. Past recipients include leading researchers such as Sarah Peluse (2026), Yunqing Tang (2024), and Jennifer Balakrishnan (2022), underscoring the prize’s prestige.
