AWM Microsoft Research Prize in Algebra and Number Theory

About this program

The Association for Women in Mathematics, with support from Microsoft Research, awards the biennial AWM Microsoft Research Prize to recognize outstanding early-career research by women in algebra and number theory, including related areas such as cryptography and combinatorics. The recipient receives $1,000, a certificate, and recognition in the AWM Newsletter. Nominees must be living women based at U.S. institutions who are within 10 years of receiving a Ph.D. or have not yet received tenure at the nomination deadline; nationality and citizenship are not restricted. Nominations may be submitted by anyone, including the candidate, and require a one- to three-page nomination letter plus one letter of support.
