AWS District Scholarships

About this program

The American Welding Society (AWS) offers District Scholarships to support students pursuing post-secondary welding education or training, with each of its 22 districts awarding funds from a $15,000 pool. Awards are at least $1,000 and may cover tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required equipment, with payments sent directly to the educational institution. Applicants must reside and attend school within an AWS District and be enrolled or planning to enroll in an eligible welding program; some scholarships require or prioritize AWS membership. Applications typically require personal statements, cost-of-attendance information, a transcript, and a headshot; the March 1 deadline has passed, and applications are expected to reopen in December 2026.
