AWS Welder Training Scholarship

About this program

The American Welding Society (AWS) offers up to 800 annual scholarships of at least $1,000 to support students pursuing welder training certificate programs lasting less than two years. Funds may cover tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required equipment, with payment made directly to the educational institution. Applicants must reside within an AWS District and plan to attend an eligible trade school, community college, or welding-training facility; associate and bachelor’s degree programs are not eligible. Applications are accepted through November 30, 2026, with selections made on a rolling basis, and AWS Section officers, selection committee members, and their families are ineligible.
