BAA Research Awards (up to £1,500)

About this program

British Archaeological Association (BAA) Research Awards offer competitive grants of up to £1,500 to help individuals complete research in archaeology, art or architecture with a defined public outcome (e.g., publication, exhibition, or scientific analysis with publicly available results). Applicants must be ordinarily resident in the UK or working on material from or directly related to the British Isles; the scheme excludes students on registered degree courses and those in full‑time employment where research is an expected part of their contract, and partially funded proposals are eligible only if the BAA contribution is sufficient to complete the project (proposals contingent on future funding are not supported). Applications must include one reference, an anticipated research schedule and a budget; submit the completed application form and Notes for Applicants by email to the Hon. Secretary at secretary@thebaa.org, and research must fall within the BAA’s chronological and geographic fields of interest.
