About this program

The Baldwin Hills & Urban Watersheds Conservancy offers Proposition 4 Community and Climate Resilience grants for projects that protect biodiversity, restore watershed function, expand equitable access to parks and open space, and strengthen community resilience within its service area. Funded through California’s Proposition 4 Climate Bond, the program supports efforts benefiting disadvantaged and severely disadvantaged communities, Tribes, and other vulnerable populations, with approximately $48 million available and a typical two-year award period. Eligible applicants include nonprofit and community-based organizations, public agencies, state and federal entities, and federally or California-recognized Native American Tribes; projects require a 25% match, which may include cash, in-kind services, staff time, donated materials, or land value. Applications proceed through Concept Proposal and Full Application phases, and prospective applicants are encouraged to consult Conservancy staff and attend a grant workshop before submitting.
