About this program
The American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Basic Science Division offers the Early Discovery Award to recognize an early-career member who has made notable contributions to basic science in glass and ceramics; the recipient receives ACerS lifetime membership, a certificate, and recognition in the ACerS Bulletin. Nominees must be ACerS members and members of the Basic Science Division and be within 10 years of receiving their terminal degree. Nominations must be submitted by an active ACerS member via the nomination form describing the candidate’s contributions, with materials due March 1 annually; nominations may be considered for up to five years provided the nominee remains eligible.
