BIP Track 1: Device, diagnostic, and software

About this program

The Biomedical Innovation Program (BIP), led by the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute (OCTRI) in partnership with OHSU Innovates and Technology Transfer, provides funding and commercialization support to accelerate translational healthcare technologies across device/diagnostic/software, drug discovery/therapeutics, and digital health domains. Awards are competitive with Track 1 (devices/diagnostics/software) typically supporting one‑year projects up to $40,000, Track 2 (drug discovery/therapeutics) supporting one‑year projects up to $60,000 (deadline May 5, 2026), and Track 3 (digital health) supporting ~6‑month projects up to $30,000 with assigned project managers and mentors; projects are evaluated against predetermined milestones and quantitative success metrics. Principal investigators must meet OHSU PI eligibility requirements, Track 3 is limited to OHSU employees and students, and applications must demonstrate interdisciplinary collaboration, commercialization potential, and attention to IP and regulatory pathways as detailed in the RFA.
