About this program

British Mycological Society (BMS) Seminar Grants provide awards of up to £3,300 to support mycology-focused talks within UK university seminar programmes, covering costs such as speaker travel and accommodation and paid to the host institution on submission of receipts. Eligible applicants are organisers of research seminar programmes at UK universities; BMS membership is not required but the seminar topic must concern fungal biology. Applications are submitted via an online form at least one month before the seminar, including contact, seminar and speaker details and a cost breakdown; there is no fixed annual deadline and decisions are usually communicated within two weeks. Award conditions include advertising the event as BMS-sponsored, using an introductory slide supplied by BMS, and permitting BMS to report on or share recordings of the seminar with speaker agreement.
