Botanical Advocacy and Service Grant

About this program

The Botanical Society of America and American Society of Plant Taxonomists offer a $1,000 annual grant for projects that advance botanical advocacy, public engagement, policymaker outreach, or policy action related to plant science. Recipients will be recognized at the annual Botany meeting and must submit a brief activity summary and image for the Plant Science Bulletin by August 15 of the following year. Applicants must be active BSA or ASPT members and provide a one-page project description, anticipated impact statement, and one-page budget in a single PDF by March 1, 2026. Proposals must also describe the applicant’s qualifications and institutional affiliation.
