Building Loan Program

About this program

The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) offers the Building Loan Program to provide affordable financing for member congregations undertaking building projects, including new construction, repairs, renovations, or expansions. Loans range from $50,000 to $900,000 with a five-year term and interest set at the five-year Treasury rate plus 3.00 percent. Eligibility requires congregations to be Annual Program Fund (APF) Honor Congregations, complete a capital campaign, and maintain total annual debt service within 25% of their annual operating budget, among other specific requirements. Applicants must also meet additional criteria, including a reversionary clause, congregational vote, environmental study, and insurance coverage.
