Burton and Erma Lewis Structural Engineering Scholarship

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Burton and Erma Lewis Structural Engineering Scholarship annually to support one undergraduate student pursuing structural engineering, with funds applicable to tuition and related academic fees. Applicants must be enrolled in and continuing in an ABET-accredited or equivalent civil engineering or related program, demonstrate strong interest in a structural engineering career, and be ASCE student members in good standing. Applications are due online by January 15 and must include a faculty-signed contact form, budget, official transcript, résumé, 500-word essay, and at least two recommendation letters, including one from faculty. Selection considers academic performance, career plans, leadership, potential, justification, and financial need; prior recipients are ineligible.
