CaGIS Distinguished Career Award

About this program

The Cartography and Geographic Information Society (CaGIS) offers its Distinguished Career Award to honor senior professionals whose sustained contributions have advanced cartography, GIS, GIScience, or their intersection. The award includes an engraved plaque, recognition in the Society’s journal and website, complimentary one-year membership, an affiliated-conference speaking invitation, and a travel stipend. Nominees must demonstrate a distinguished career in research, teaching, service, government, or commercial development, including evidence of active work within the past ten years; CaGIS membership is not required. Nominations must be submitted by a CaGIS member (no self-nominations) by February 28 and include a 1,000-word statement, a maximum two-page accomplishments summary, and optional letters of support.
