CAMWS Teacher Training Initiative Scholarship Program

About this program

The Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) offers $500 Teacher Training Initiative Scholarships to support undergraduate students pursuing certification to teach Latin, with particular encouragement for applicants from underrepresented or underserved populations. Awards may be renewable, with up to two scholarships granted annually. Eligible applicants are high-school seniors planning to major in Classics and obtain certification or current college/university first-year students, sophomores, or juniors pursuing teaching certification. Applications, due February 1, must include a one-page statement of purpose, transcript highlighting Classics coursework, and a support letter from a current CAMWS-member teacher or mentor.
