Catalyst Grant

About this program

The American Alpine Club’s Catalyst Grant supports climbing access and opportunity for historically underrepresented communities facing financial or other barriers, funding expeditions and program-creation projects across all climbing disciplines. Awards are up to $1,000 for individuals and $250–$750 per person for teams of two to four, for objectives in the United States. Applicants must be AAC members, U.S. citizens or green card holders, and identify with an underrepresented group; proposals must present an attainable progression goal, authorized land use, and required land manager or conservation endorsement. Applications are due by April 30 at 11:59 p.m. MDT, with activities occurring between June 15, 2025, and June 30, 2026.
