CCTSI K12 Program A Mentored Career Development Award

About this program

The CCTSI K12 Mentored Career Development Award supports early-career faculty conducting clinical and translational research, providing up to three years of mentored support to develop independent funding and requiring participation in structured mentoring/career‑development activities (CO-Mentor, teaming/leadership training, mock grant reviews) and attendance at the national CTSA consortium meeting. Award funding includes up to $96,000/year salary support for 75% effort (50%+ for surgery), employee benefits in addition, $22,000/year for research/project expenses and $1,500/year travel; departments must cover any portion of 75% salary exceeding the $96,000 cap (i.e., when annual salary > $128,000). Scholars must commit 75% protected effort and their home department must provide $25,000/year in matching funds to support the scholar’s research. Applications are invited via periodic RFAs with a pre‑application review that may lead to invitation to submit a full proposal; positions may include child‑health focus areas.
