Charter School Facilities Incentive Grants Program

About this program

The California School Finance Authority, within the State Treasurer’s Office, offers $30 million in federal Charter School Facilities Incentive Grants to support California charter schools’ facility-related costs, including rent, lease, mortgage, debt service, Proposition 39 payments, acquisition, design, construction, and renovation. Funding is expected to support three rounds beginning in the 2025–26 school year, with awards provided over three years and no matching funds required. Eligible applicants are nonprofit or public agency charter schools operating in California, subject to the program regulations. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with award amounts dependent on submissions and the application process.
