Charter School Facilities Program (CSFP)

About this program

The California State Treasurer’s Office, through the California School Finance Authority and Office of Public School Construction, offers the Charter School Facilities Program (CSFP) to finance construction of new permanent charter school facilities or rehabilitation of existing school district facilities. The program provides low-cost financing structured as 50% grant and 50% loan, supported by voter-approved state bond measures, with up to $1.4 billion available. Eligible applicants include charter schools organized as nonprofit entities or public agencies, subject to the program’s financial soundness review and certification requirements. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with funding and award amounts determined by OPSC.
