CIMA research grants

About this program

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) funds research to advance the science of management accounting and support CGMA designation holders and the profession through Global Calls, Regional Calls, and ad-hoc grants. Funding is open to early-career and experienced academic researchers worldwide; the next Global Call is scheduled for 2027 (details due H2 2026) and a current Southern African Regional Call accepts applications from academic institutions in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Lesotho, and eSwatini. Proposals are externally peer-reviewed and evaluated for academic rigour, originality, quality, and contribution to CIMA’s research objectives, with Regional Calls targeting research in local business and regulatory contexts.
