About this program

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will open a Methods Funding Announcement on April 1, 2026 to support studies that address high-impact methodological gaps in patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research, with program priorities including patient-centered measurement, use of real-world data in multi-site CER, AI/ML methods, and study design. Awards provide up to $750,000 in direct costs for projects up to three years (total program funds up to $12 million), and use of PCORI’s Patient-Centered Outcomes Data Repository (PCODR) datasets is encouraged but not required. Applicants must demonstrate meaningful patient and stakeholder partnership by addressing PCORI’s Foundational Expectations for Partnerships in Research, submit a Letter of Intent by April 28, 2026, and—if invited—submit a full application by Sept. 1, 2026.
