CMGA Youth Support Fund

About this program

The Canadian Meat Goat Association (CMGA) offers up to CAD 500 annually to outstanding youth members active in the commercial meat goat industry to support leadership development activities such as starting a meat goat operation, post‑secondary agricultural education, attending industry events, and purchasing breeding stock. Applicants must be juniors age 21 or under as of January 1 of the current year, be current CMGA members, and currently own commercial meat goats (Boer, Kiko, or percentage); awards are discretionary and may be given only once per person. Required materials include a cover letter and resume, a 750‑word essay on a current industry issue with proposed solutions, proof of requested funds, acceptance/course information for education uses, a business plan for start‑ups (if applicable), and a reference letter from a CMGA member in good standing or an industry professional (not family). Applications must be signed and submitted by July 31 (mailed or emailed to info@canadianmeatgoat.com); successful applicants will be notified by September 30 and CMGA may publish submitted essays.
