About this program

The Coachella Valley Mountains Conservancy offers Proposition 4 grants for nature-based solutions and climate adaptation projects that improve resilience, protect natural and cultural resources, restore habitats and watersheds, reduce wildfire risks, and expand equitable access to outdoor recreation within its territorial jurisdiction. Approximately $11 million is available on a rolling basis through reimbursement awards, with applications beginning with a Letter of Intent and pre-application consultation. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments proposing projects in the Coachella Valley and surrounding mountains; matching funds are not required but approximately 20% is encouraged. Priority may be given to projects benefiting disadvantaged or vulnerable communities, demonstrating meaningful community engagement, leveraging matching funds, and supporting regional or state conservation goals.
