Crop Science Distinguished Service Award

About this program

The Crop Science Society of America offers the Crop Science Distinguished Service Award to an individual or team who has made exceptional contributions to crop science by developing or improving programs, practices, or products; the award includes a certificate, a complimentary award-ceremony ticket, and $2,000. Nominees must be current or past CSSA members for at least 20 years and teams are eligible; nominators and references must be CSSA members, and members of the CSSA Awards Committee or Board of Directors are ineligible to serve as nominators, nominees, or references. Required nomination materials include the nominator’s current title and employer, the nominee’s degrees, positions, and honors, a nomination letter (up to 6,000 characters) describing primary achievements and impact, and a CV limited to 5 pages with up to 15 publications. Applications are accepted annually from January through March 25 and must be submitted via the CSSA Awards Hub.
