CSFS President’s Fund

About this program

The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS) President’s Fund offers up to £10,000 (awarded biennially) to support projects that would not otherwise receive funding and that benefit members and the wider forensic science community; the current round prioritises inclusion and diversity initiatives (research, workshops, roundtables, podcasts and other activities) and may fund one or multiple projects to maximise impact. Funded projects are expected to be completed by 31 Sept 2026 and results will be presented at the next CSFS Annual Conference. Main applicants must be current CSFS members and proposals must demonstrate understanding of inclusion and diversity challenges, alignment with the CSFS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, plans for dissemination and impact evaluation, originality, and appropriate expertise and sustainability or future-funding evidence where relevant. Applications must include a project overview (max 4 A4 pages), brief overview of project personnel, a one-page financial costing and the CSFS President’s Fund Application Form, submitted to nicola.schumacher@csofs.org; an online sandpit will be held in June and the closing date is Thursday 31 July.
