CSFS Research Grant

About this program

The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSFS) awards two annual Research Grants of up to £5,000 each—one for an academic-led project and one for a practitioner-led project—to support research that improves forensic science practice, policy, criminal justice, forensic medicine, crime investigation, or education and training. Applicants must be professional CSFS members (Associate, Member, Fellow, or Chartered) for at least one calendar year and must conduct the research at an institute or organisation accepted by CSFS Council; priority is given to members with limited funding access and early-career researchers/practitioners. Required application materials include a completed application form, personal research statement, case support statement (aims, methodology, risks/mitigation, impact and dissemination), Gantt chart, detailed budget, and contact details for an independent referee; applications typically close on 30 April with successful applicants notified in July.
