CSMB Arthur Wynne Gold Medal

About this program

The Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences awards the biennial Arthur Wynne Gold Medal as a lifetime achievement honor for major career contributions to molecular biosciences in Canada; the recipient receives a plaque, delivers a lecture at the CSMB Annual Conference, and submits a manuscript or review for publication (no monetary prize). Candidates are evaluated using tri‑council- and DORA-aligned criteria focused on international research profile, contribution to the development and promotion of the discipline in Canada, and sustained service to the academic or broader community, with evidence such as publications, IP, leadership, policy engagement, and outreach. Nominees must have lived in Canada and worked at a Canadian research institute in a senior investigator position for the past 15 years; self-nominations are not accepted, nominators/nominees need not be CSMB members, and current CSMB Board or committee members are ineligible while holding office.
