About this program
The Council on Undergraduate Research and the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation invite institutional nominations for the CUR-Goldwater Scholars Faculty Mentor Award, recognizing outstanding STEM faculty mentorship of Goldwater Scholars. The recipient receives national recognition and a $5,000 award to their institution to support the mentor’s research program or current undergraduate researchers. Eligible nominees must be faculty in a Goldwater-defined STEM discipline with at least five years of teaching experience and a record of mentoring at least three Goldwater Scholars or Honorable Mentions. Institutions may submit one nomination annually by November 13, 2026; self-nominations are not accepted, and initial materials must include an institutional leadership letter, a three-page CV, and a list of mentored Goldwater students.
