About this program
The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) offers the David Calkins Award in Health Policy Advocacy to recognize an individual member’s exceptional commitment and accomplishments in advancing health policy advocacy on behalf of SGIM. The award honors sustained advocacy over many years or a significant recent achievement related to an SGIM advocacy issue. Nominees must be SGIM individuals, including eligible government employees, who have demonstrated meaningful commitment to policy issues important to SGIM members. The next application period opens in fall 2027.
