Dean Franklin Young Investigator Award - Sponsored by Harvard Bioscience

About this program

Harvard Bioscience, administered by the American Physiological Society (APS), sponsors the Dean Franklin Young Investigator Award to support postdoctoral scientists or junior faculty conducting in vivo physiological research and establishing independent laboratories by providing a DSI Instrumentation Starter Kit (approx. $70,000) plus reimbursement of the American Physiology Summit early registration fee. The awardee must attend the American Physiology Summit to receive the award; the award cannot be delayed and is contingent upon funding. Eligibility requires APS membership for two consecutive years at the time of application; U.S. residency is not required. Applications are submitted online and must include a research description (up to 3 pages), a one-page DSI equipment use plan, a one-page path to independence, an NIH/NSF-format biosketch, list of current and pending support, Summit abstract(s), a department chair/administrator/mentor recommendation, and a letter of support describing the applicant’s research program.
