D.I.C. Wang Award for Excellence in Biochemical Engineering

The Society for Biological Engineering (SBE) of AIChE administers the annual D.I.C. Wang Award for Excellence in Biochemical Engineering, an endowed prize honoring Daniel I.C. Wang that recognizes individuals in academia or industry for innovation, translation of research to industrial commercialization, and extension of research to process technology; the award is presented alternately at the AIChE Annual Meeting (Fall) and the ACS spring meeting. Any individual may submit a nomination; nominees must have made major contributions through research, education, or practice in biochemical engineering and must not have received an SBE award in the four years preceding the award year. Nominations are submitted by email to sbeawards@aiche.org and may include a nomination form, CV, a letter from the nomination committee, and supporting letters. A three-member Nomination Committee of past awardees (appointed by SBE and approved by Division 15 and BIOT chairs) solicits and forwards recommended candidates, with particular emphasis on identifying strong industry nominees.
