Distinguished Scholar Award

About this program

The Communal Studies Association’s Distinguished Scholar Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the scholarly study of communal societies, particularly those in the United States. Recipients are recognized at the organization’s annual fall conference and receive an award plaque. Any person or group may be nominated, but nominators must be CSA members; Award Committee members are ineligible. Nominations are due June 1 of the award year and must include a statement of contributions, bibliography, exhibit list, curriculum vitae, and supporting documentation; eligible projects or publications must have been completed within the preceding two calendar years or by the nomination deadline.
