Distinguished Service Award (ESPGHAN)

The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) awards the annual Distinguished Service Award to an individual who has made a major contribution to paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, or nutrition—either as a whole-life achievement or a major recent advance—and the prize is a recognition honor with no monetary amount specified. Candidates may be recognized for basic science or clinical work and should have demonstrable impact on the fields or on ESPGHAN’s mission. Nominees must be ESPGHAN members at the time of nomination and be proposed by five ESPGHAN members, each providing a signed letter of recommendation. Selection is based on outstanding scientific achievements (publication and citation record), contributions to standards, practice and training, service to ESPGHAN, and personal integrity; no application deadline is listed on the announcement.
