About this program

The F.R.S.-FNRS funds doctoral scholarships and fixed‑term contracts to support PhD completion, research staff, equipment and operating costs at French‑speaking universities of the Wallonia‑Brussels Federation through multiple instruments (ASP, FRIA, FRESH, BSD, EUI Doctoral Grant, CSD/SD clinical fellowships, VETE‑CCD, Télévie, etc.). Grants are awarded by peer review on scientific excellence and have instrument‑specific durations and renewal rules (e.g., ASP: 2 years, renewable once to total 4 years; FRIA/FRESH: two successive scholarships up to 27 + 21 months; EUI: applicants must hold a WBF master’s obtained within 7 years; Télévie: up to 2 years, renewable). Eligible applicants are holders of an academic master’s affiliated with French‑speaking WBF universities — including prospective PhD candidates, clinical and specialist physicians, veterinary clinicians, secondary‑school teachers with WBF degrees, and candidates linked to Télévie projects — and must follow the application procedures and guides on the FNRS website (contact: deborah.matterne@frs‑fnrs.be).
