About this program
The State Historical Society of Missouri offers the biennial Eagleton-Waters Book Award for the best book on Missouri’s political history, with a $1,000 cash prize and plaque for the author(s). Books copyrighted in 2025 or 2026 are eligible for the 2027 award. Eligible submissions include original, documented monographs, historical biographies, and general studies; festschrifts, essay collections, autobiographies, and edited works are excluded. Nominations must include four copies of the book and a letter with complete publisher and author contact information, delivered or postmarked by June 30, 2027.
