Early American Industries Association Research Grants

About this program

The Early American Industries Association offers annual Research Grants of up to $3,000 to support projects that preserve and present historic trades, crafts, and tools and interpret their impact; applications are due March 15 and awards are announced in May at the EAIA Annual Meeting. Eligible applicants include individuals and organizations with projects aligned to EAIA’s mission, with one grant slot potentially reserved for 501(c)(3) historic sites conducting active conservation, public demonstrations, or educational programming. Applications (materials provided by EAIA) must be no longer than ten pages; grants may supplement but not replace other aid, are not renewable, and may not be used for salaries, stipends, historical artifacts, software, or equipment. Awardees must submit a financial report by March 15 the year following the grant, provide an abstract within 60 days of completion, deposit a final copy with the Research Grants Committee, submit an article for EAIA publication within one year, and acknowledge EAIA support in publications.
