East Indiana AHEC 2025-2026 Mini-Grant Program

About this program

East Indiana Area Health Education Center (EI-AHEC) is offering 2025–2026 mini-grants of up to $2,500 (reimbursement basis) to support projects that recruit, educate, and retain healthcare professionals for rural and medically underserved communities in EI-AHEC’s service region. Eligible applicants are community partners in the listed counties that are 501(c)(3) nonprofits or government/education entities (or that secure a fiscal agent); projects must target one of three learner groups (Goal A: high school/early college health careers, Goal B: hands-on health professions student experiences, Goal D: continuing/professional development) and Goal B/D proposals must address one or more AHEC core topics and include Indiana AHEC learner evaluations. A local match of at least 50% of requested EI-AHEC funds is required (e.g., $1,250 match for a $2,500 award); prohibited reimbursements include food, entertainment, promotional items, scholarships, and administrative overhead, and awards are subject to IU subrecipient monitoring and 2 CFR Part 200 allowable-cost rules. Applications open September 2025 and are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted (decisions typically within two weeks); projects run September 2025–May 2026 with final reports and financial documentation due May 22, 2026, and applications should be emailed to jeff.hartz@eiahec.org with “mini-grant” in the subject line.
