Ed A Hewett Book Prize

Offered annually by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) and sponsored by the University of Michigan Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, the Ed A Hewett Book Prize (cash award amount not specified) recognizes an outstanding monograph on the political economy of Russia, Eurasia, or Eastern Europe published in the previous calendar year and is presented at the ASEEES Annual Convention. Nomination is restricted to the book’s publisher or the author via an online form (nomination form due by April 15; nominated books must be received by May 15), and nominators are responsible for sending a copy to each committee member; print copies are preferred though ebooks may be accepted. Eligible works are preferably single-author or two-author monographs originally published in English with a publication or copyright date in the prior calendar year; ineligible are textbooks, translations, bibliographies, reference works, and self-published titles, and a book may be nominated for no more than two prizes.
