Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Edmund Friedman Young Engineer Award for Professional Achievement to recognize younger members who have made significant professional contributions; recipients receive a certificate and an honorarium. Nominees must be ASCE members in good standing, age 35 or younger on February 1 of the award year, and hold E.I., E.I.T., or P.E. credentials. Selection considers professional advancement, technical competence, character, leadership, public service, and contributions to ASCE objectives; active voting members of the Committee on Younger Members are ineligible. Nominations are due February 1 and must include a signed cover letter, CV or biography, and two or three recommendation letters, including one from the nominee’s ASCE section or branch president.
