Edwards Prize

About this program

The Wilson Ornithological Society offers the Edwards Prize for the best major article published in each volume of The Wilson Journal of Ornithology, honoring ornithological research and the legacy of Ernest P. “Buck” Edwards. The selected paper’s authors receive a commemorative plaque presented at the Society’s annual meeting following completion of the volume. Eligibility is limited to major articles published in the relevant journal volume; a selection committee coordinated by the journal’s Editors-in-Chief chooses the recipient, with no separate application process indicated.
