Ely S. Parker Award — AISES lifetime achievement award for Indigenous STEM leaders

About this program

AISES (Advancing Indigenous Science and Engineering Society) awards the Ely S. Parker Award as its highest lifetime-achievement honor to recognize exceptional Indigenous leaders whose sustained accomplishments advance AISES’s mission and the Indigenous STEM community; honorees receive recognition at the AISES National Conference, a personalized engraved medallion, and a feature in Winds of Change magazine. Eligible nominees are Indigenous professionals with demonstrated STEM achievements, must be AISES members with a record of engagement, and have at least 25 years of professional work experience; awardees are expected to accept in person at the AISES National Conference (Oct 4, 2025, Minneapolis) and travel expenses are not covered. Nominations (open Jul 22, due Aug 12; selection Aug 15, notifications Aug 20) must include a cover letter, CV/resume, organization personnel chart, materials demonstrating Indigenous community involvement, at least two recommendation letters, and an identified AISES member sponsor; the Board selects recipients based on contributions to AISES and Indigenous STEM, innovation, scope of responsibility, resilience, role-model potential, and overall nomination quality.
