Embedded Pragmatic Clinical Trials (ePCT) Planning Grant

The IMPACT Collaboratory is offering up to two 12-month ePCT Planning Grants of up to $150,000 (total direct costs) to support collaborative planning and development of fully specified Stage IV embedded pragmatic clinical trial protocols testing non‑pharmacological interventions to improve management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) in nursing home settings. Funding supports stakeholder engagement, development of trial design components (level of randomization, participant identification/enrollment, intervention and implementation strategy, clinical outcomes), and plans for data access/transfer to position projects for subsequent pilot or full‑scale ePCT funding. Applicants must partner with a nursing home organization, include participation from at least two nursing homes (within a single organization or across organizations), and establish a resident–care partner advisory board; the mechanism is restricted to Stage IV effectiveness ePCTs and does not fund early‑stage or efficacy‑stage work.
