The California State Water Resources Control Board offers Cleanup and Abatement Account grants for projects that clean up or abate pollution affecting state waters or address urgent drinking water needs caused by drought, contamination, or other eligible emergencies. Approximately $9.7 million is available through ongoing applications, with reimbursement funding provided for award periods of up to two years and no matching funds required. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, qualifying tribal governments, and community water systems serving disadvantaged communities; tribal applicants must meet consultation-list, disadvantaged-community, and sovereign-immunity requirements.
