New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center offers a one-year Emergency Psychiatry Fellowship at the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP), providing clinical, administrative, and research training across an 18-bed unit with extended observation beds and a Mobile Crisis Team. Fellows receive supervised exposure to a broad range of acute psychiatric emergencies—including suicidality, homicidality, psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders, and substance use presentations—and participate in teaching and dual training in public and emergency psychiatry under core faculty such as Ryan Lawrence, MD and Brian Fuchs, MD. Applicants must have completed an accredited psychiatric residency, hold New York State medical licensure, and be accepted into the Columbia Public Psychiatry Fellowship. The one-year fellowship is currently open for applicants.
