Emerging Scholar Awards (2027 Conference)

About this program

Common Ground Research Networks’ Communication & Media Studies Research Network awards annual Emerging Scholar Awards to outstanding graduate students and early-career scholars, supporting their participation in the Network’s conference and integration into its publication and community programs. The award provides complimentary conference registration, Research Network membership, formal recognition, digital presentation exposure via CGScholar, and structured mentoring and professional-development opportunities; both in-person and online-only formats are recognized. Awardees are expected to attend pre-conference orientation and actively participate by chairing sessions and leading discussions throughout the event. Eligibility is limited to graduate students or early-career researchers in fields relevant to the conference who demonstrate originality and commitment to collaborative, ethical scholarship; early deadline 27 February 2027, final deadline 29 June 2027.
