About this program

The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers the Arthur C. Cope Award to honor exceptional contributions in organic chemistry, specifically recognizing achievements that have gained prominence within the five years prior to the award year. The award includes a $25,000 prize, a medallion, and a certificate for the recipient, along with a $150,000 unrestricted research grant to their chosen university or non-profit institution. Eligible applicants include professionals from industry, faculty, chemistry professionals, and international candidates, with no restrictions based on personal characteristics such as race, gender, or educational background. Nominations are accepted annually from July 1 to November 1.
