Endowment Grants (Canadian Mathematical Society)

About this program

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) Endowment Grants provide one-year awards up to $5,000 to support projects that advance, discover, teach, or apply mathematics, with a preference for creative proposals that leverage CMS funds or fill funding gaps. Applications are submitted via an online form during the annual call (submissions open June 1 and close September 30 for that cycle); consult the CMS website for current deadlines and recent award examples. Applicants must be CMS members (one proposal per applicant per competition); joint applications are permitted if at least one applicant is a CMS member, and each proposal must name a principal investigator who will serve as contact, signatory, fund recipient, and final-report author. Grant recipients must submit periodic progress and financial reports (reports due by September 30 via the online form); inquiries can be sent to awards-prizes@cms.math.ca.
