ESB Diversity Award

About this program

European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) offers the ESB Diversity Award, presented at the ESB Congress to recognize and encourage contributions that highlight diversity within biomechanics (e.g., gender, ethnicity, ability) and to promote incorporation of diverse perspectives in research; the winner receives a certificate and €300. Applicants must be the first author of the abstract and ESB members in good standing, and must apply via the Congress online submission portal by checking the ESB Diversity Award box and submitting a statement of need together with the abstract, with the application deadline coinciding with the Congress abstract submission closing date. An Award Committee evaluates submissions for scientific excellence, relevance to diversity, clarity and presentation, selects three finalists to present in a special parallel session at the Congress, and chooses the final winner based on the abstract and oral presentation.
